We are seeking a values-driven Mission Team Leader who will lead an effective and high functioning team of case managers.
Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Mission Team Leader who will lead an effective and high functioning team of case managers and specialist support workers to deliver client-centred homelessness and state-wide corrections program for people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or exiting the prison. The role will ensure service practice models and standards are achieved and deliver on funding body requirements are met in the Housing Connect SASH, Veteran Services and the Street to Home programs.
You will successfully
- Implementation of service delivery processes, practices and tools
- Train and develop the team’s skills required of the Housing support services, supported accommodation and residential services within the community services sector
- Quality service delivery meets the needs of client groups; for example, service user entry, intake, case management/service delivery planning, and progress and outcomes for clients
- Provide specialist expertise to workers to resolve complex case management issues
- Monitoring service performance targets and collaboratively identifying strategies to address issues with program team members
- Running regular team meetings and participation in state and national meetings
- Managing team and program resources as required e.g. vehicles, equipment and property
- Capacity to be ‘on call’ after hours
- Line management and supervision of case managers & support workers
- Reflective practices are implemented for the team and contribute to improved outcomes for clients
- Develop the capability of the team through coaching and training
- Assisting with the frontline implementation and review of practice model, including communities of practice, processes and implementation of change
This is a full-time, permanent position located in Hobart Tasmania however, travel may be required to other sites/services. Salary and conditions are in the SCHADS A Level 6.
You will have
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field or Demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
- Significant experience in social services environment, withing Housing and Homelessness industry highly desirable
- Relevant experience in supervising and supporting staff
- Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
- Current Tasmanian Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
