**About the role**

This role will identify, attract and acquire new memberships via a focus on opportunities linked with VCCI’s training services. A proactive and consultative sales approach and networking will be required. Working closely across our membership and services teams, you will be a frontline trusted advisor to identify a prospective member’s needs and translate this into membership or service opportunities and a long-term partnership with VCCI.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

- Collaborate across the business and help shape the VCCI Business Development Lead consultative sales approach with a focus on driving new membership sales.
- Develop, grow and manage an active pipeline of new membership and service opportunities
- Develop new business growth strategies and activities including events, assessments, and marketing activities.
- Manage and act on all allocated new business leads.
- Collaborate with the workplace training department to identify new training opportunities.
- Represent VCCI at owned, industry and partner events and forums to develop new leads and partnerships.

**About you (Key Selection Criteria)**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Extensive relevant sales/business development experience with demonstrated sales achievement in B2B/SME roles
- Commercially minded with an ability to recognise, develop and convert new training and consulting opportunities
- Proven ability to develop a strategic sales plan and implement
- Experience in service led training and consulting sales desirable
- Advanced Presentation and communication skills (Verbal, written and virtual)
- Proven ability to network successfully
- Proven experience in delivering a solutions-based sales approach and showing flexibility to tailor services to client needs
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Demonstrated experience in maximising the value of internal stakeholders in a complex business environment
- The ability to demonstrate cultural values of VCCI
- The ability to work autonomously and the motivation to succeed
- Passion for Victorian business and its success
