**The Role**

We have an exciting opportunity as a Lead, Application Development, tackling some of our unique and significant projects we have in place this year.

The purpose and unique contribution of your role is to lead and drive a technical community of practice, that will include embracing Agile methodology and supporting frameworks, leading quality of outcomes, supporting documentation, code quality and team ethos by driving these philosophy’s.

You will be a key factor in driving the cultural change towards agile and modern delivery models as part of a large-scale transformation towards Continuous Delivery and Lean Governance principles. You will actively shape the path to our shared goal of platform autonomy with alignment by being a key enabler, to deliver customer outcomes.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your capabilities and skills so that they can be utilised more broadly within Group Technology and IAG

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership to staff and partners that enables, promotes and demands IAG behaviours at all times
- Enhance coding and source code development standards;
- Design and develop code that is clean, understandable, maintainable and extensible
- Liaise with business system owners directly (where required) to refine requirements and provide guidance;
- Mentor emerging developers in the software development activity;
- Take ownership of allocated work or initiatives and deliver these on time and within quality expectations;
- Identifying industry tools that are fit for purpose and championing their adoption, providing technical guidance and recommendations to the team and business;
- Ensures results are of the highest caliber with clearly articulated scope and quantified business benefit, by directing complex change involving multiple internal/external constituents and matrix partners.

**Skills & Experience**
- 7 + years relevant IT industry experience in within a complex technology operating environment
- Strong and proven multiple SAP ECC / S4 HANA and SAP Reinsurance implementation and support experience.
- Experience in a continuous delivery environment including automation
- Working knowledge of Agile and Project Management Methodologies
- Proven success in improving quality, continuous improvement in a technology organisation
- Extensive experience in systems integration and Environment Management
- Proven ability to implement generic, re-usable solutions, components or frameworks, including appropriate documentation and training
- Proven Team player willing to work in a fast-paced agile environment
- Proven experience in business and IT relationship management; working in/with matrix structures and influencing senior business and technology leaders

**Qualifications**
- Relevant Technical qualification/s in Technology related fields
