About the Role:
As an experienced People & Culture practitioner with extensive experience managing complex people matters you are confident supporting and guiding your team and business leaders to achieve workable people focussed solutions.

You’re known for your creative thinking, are a problem solver by nature and work towards results with pragmatism and optimism. You are strong operationally yet can see the big picture to help guide key decisions.

You’ll join a talented and supportive People & Culture team moving seamlessly between leading strategic initiatives and owning operational human resource activities. Alongside leading a high performing team of two to attract, engage and support employee’s across our business you will be willing to ‘get your hands dirty’ and play an active role in the delivery and continuous improvement of the Human Resource and Talent functions across the Momentum Energy business including cyclical HR activities. The role oversees employees in both Melbourne and Hobart locations.

You will also work closely with the Capability & Development, Safety & Workplace and Internal Communications teams alongside our colleagues at Hydro Tasmania to design and deliver programs of work that create safe, engaging and meaningful experiences for all across the Momentum business.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership and oversight of timely, customer focussed human resource management adviceand support to People Leaders and employees as required. This may include (but is not limited to): career planning, performance management, return to work/workers compensation, generation of formal letters/documentation/contracts.
- Manage the planning and delivery of P&C programs and initiatives, and cyclical HR activities in partnership with Hydro P&CMaintain knowledge and expertise in the relevant field/s and keep abreast of best practice people initiatives and changes in legislative requirements. Adapt processes and policies as required.
- Co-design and delivery of the People & Talent strategy
- Work closely with the broader People & Culture team members to ensure the effective implementation of P&C initiatives across ME that align where possible, with the Hydro Tasmania group.
- Exercise sound judgement and advise, coach and support employees at each stage of the workforce lifecycle - plan, attract, engage, develop, support, reward, retain and transition.
- Lead People Initiatives that may include DEI, Data and Reporting, HRIS and people technology implementations and changes, group wide people policies and Executive Incentive Program.
- Provide strategic and operational advice and support on the progress and risks associated with organisational change.

About You and Your Experience:

- Significant strategic and operational experience in the development and implementation of people solutions for complex business needs,
- Extensive experience in complex employee relations case management (e.g. relating to performance management, disciplinary actions and grievances),
- Significant experience in the delivery of strategic and operational talent acquisition and internal talent management
- A solid track-record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders in a complex and ever-changing environment
- Management experience including managing, scheduling/prioritising resources, managing and motivating employees and maintain a safe work environment.
- High level interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing and reasoning skills
- Extensive knowledge and management skills in providing advice to senior management on complex matters,
- High standard of ethical behaviour which promotes a positive workplace culture and is consistent with Hydro Tasmania group and People and Culture values and behaviours,
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and the ability to work collaboratively and constructively to build effective partnerships, initiate and champion positive change within own team and across the organisation,
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and a sound understanding of business principles, continuous improvement and key organisational performance indicators
