**The Role**
The Garrison Health Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the management of the minor works program that includes planned activities through the Estate Works Program and the provision of technical advice for unplanned activities. Additionally, this position will be the Joint Health Command liaison point of contact throughout the delivery of funded minor work projects.
As the Garrison Health Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the development and management of estate planning and infrastructure projects within Joint Health Command.
- Provide advice on estate planning and coordination for Defence health facilities.
- Prepare written correspondence including ministerial submissions and responses, project plans, reports and committee papers.
- Develop and contribute to strategies and solutions that achieve a more affordable and sustainable health infrastructure estate that supports Defence capability.
- Liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on estate planning matters.
- Represent the Directorate and Branch at internal and external meetings.
- Initiate planning concepts, formulate justifications and user requirements for the provision of health facilities.
- Manage workflows and resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
There will be a requirement to travel within Australia, on a frequent basis, to attend health infrastructure and estate planning meetings at identified Bases to represent Joint Health Command.
**About our Team**
The Health Infrastructure team is responsible to the Director General Health Business and Plans to manage the Joint Health Command estate. This includes managing major projects and minor works across the Garrison, remaining cognisant of State and Territory regulations.
Within Garrison there are 49 health facilities that deliver health care to the Australian Defence Force. The garrison health facilities are required to be fit-for-purpose and our team is responsible to ensure compliance through management and development of major and minor infrastructure works.
We are looking for an applicant who is highly motivated, team-oriented, independent thinker, who possesses very good interpersonal skills to enable infrastructure management across a diverse Garrison environment. Attention to detail, very good administrative skills and experience in infrastructure management is required to fulfill this dynamic and complex role.
