**About us**

The Information Officer role performs a case management function to assist and support all applicants requesting to access information from the Central or Voluntary registers. In addition, they provide a search and outreach service for people, linked through donor conception, who wish to connect to one another.

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Liaise with ART providers and government agencies and record information received and disclosed by the Authority
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data held by the Authority
- Identify and confirm genetic family members via ART clinic records and DNA test results
- Respond to enquiries and provide advice and information to members of the public and ART clinics in verbal and written format
- Develop written material for both internal and external stakeholders including facts sheets, forms, policies and procedures
- Assist the Principal Legal Officer with aspects of record keeping, information management and process development
- Provide and support continuous process improvement in relation to the activities undertaken in this role

**Qualifications & experience**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory information into clear and concise verbal and written advice for a wide range of audiences based on principles of plain English
- Strong interpersonal skills, including capacity to deal with sensitive and confidential issues
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a high functioning small-team environment
- Excellent organisational skills including demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, effectively manage own time and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of office administration, information and/or database systems and processes
- Ability to perform data entry, analysis and reporting with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience of working in a regulatory environment, an ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant legislation and experience working with medical records or information management are desired but not essential
- Tertiary qualifications relating to information/records management and experience in open source intelligence (OSINT) searches will also be viewed favourably.
- Applicants who already have a baseline security check are desirable but this is not mandatory.

FIXED TERM CONTRACT: Fulltime (38 hrs per week) or 0.8FTE for 12 months. Hybrid working arrangements can be negotiated, in line with VARTA policies, after an onboarding period. Melbourne CBD location. Standard business hours. Salary dependent on experience. Range from $70k to $84k plus superannuation.
