Established in 1987 in Shenzhen, China Merchants Bank (CMB) is at the forefront of China's reform and opening-up drive, CMB is China's first joint-stock commercial bank and also the first bank to attend the national experiment for the promotion of China's banking industry reform driven by endeavors from outside the government.

We are the Mel-based branch of one of the largest banks in the world. We bank our value/strategic customers with a wide range of lending and financial products and services to meet their financial needs.

Currently we are looking for an experienced and Mandarin Speaking Information Security Officer with a minimum 2 years of IT experience to join our Melbourne Branch.

Responsibilities shall include, however not be limited to:

  • Assist to develop and implement comprehensive information security strategies and controls to protect sensitive information and technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to assess security risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with evolving security standards and to stay informed of changes in regulations and best practices.
  • Continuously monitor network and system activity to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
  • Ensure security configurations are applied consistently across all systems and networks, and update configurations as needed to address emerging threats.
  • Administer and maintain security tools and platforms, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Develop and conduct employee information security training to enhance overall security awareness.
  • Other duties as directed.

Qualifications and expectations of the successful candidates:

  • Currently we are looking for an experienced and hardworking Information Security with a minimum 2 years of experience to join our Melbourne Branch.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing information security requirements under the security policies and standards guidelines, including the development and implementation of testing plans.
  • The ability to interpret and adhere to legislative, policy, and regulatory requirements related to information security.
  • Possess necessary writing skills, including the development of the branch's information security policies and the preparation of information security reports.
  • Experience in cyber engineering and data security program projects.
  • Good understanding of risk management principles, experience in assessing and mitigating security risks across various IT environments with risk assessment frameworks knowledge.
  • Mandarin speaking is mandatory.
  • Experience in the financial industry or banking area is a plus.
