**The Role**
The Governance and Reporting Officer role sits within the Business Optimisation team whose primary purpose is to provide ongoing development and review of Training Force Systems enabling all personnel to deliver outcomes in the most effective manner to achieve Training Force’s mission. The team optimise strategies and practices to find efficient ways of working through improved workflows, frameworks and systems.
In this position you will play a key role in implementing and maintaining governance frameworks, systems, and tools. You will be require strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with a strong focus on achieving best practice and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Deputy Director Business Optimisation, you will assist in driving the automation of the business processes towards ongoing improvement of work practices and Training Force’s approach to knowledge management. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to work in a small team in a multidisciplinary environment and roles with competing priorities. Additionally, you will provide detailed professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
**About our Team**
The Business Optimisation Team sits within the Deputy Commodore Training Directorate at Navy Training Force Headquarters. The team provides business optimisation services to Training Force to enable timely, efficient and accurate decision making. The team aims to identify and implement new methods and processes that seek to redesign and streamline, ensuring a continual improvement cycle is in place.
This role reports to the Deputy Director Business Optimisation and is located at Training Force Headquarters, Campbell Park.
The Governance and Reporting Officer will have an in-depth knowledge of governance methodologies, principles of governance and the underlying pillars of reporting, assurance, risk and risk management in order to achieve compliance with legislative requirements, government decision-making Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
You will be expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within the work unit.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Coordinate, monitor and report on governance compliance, identify risks and determine appropriate course of action to meet stakeholder needs in accordance with Defence governance and policy requirements.
- Be accountable for the review, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures within Training Force, that are consistent with Defence governance requirements. This includes: strategy, risk, governance, reporting and compliance.
- Provide quality assurance checks and analyse information and outcomes to identify and exploit continuous improvement opportunities and suggest alternative courses of action to problems.
- Support strategic board and committee meetings, ensuring that information flows securely and efficiently to the right people..
