**Location: Alexandria, NSW**:

- ** Pay Rate: $35-$42 per hour + super**:

- ** 12 months contract, 40 hours per week**

We are looking for an experienced **Project Officer** to support the implementation of the City's residential food organics recycling collection service and other resource recovery programs to increase resource recovery in the City of Sydney.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Communicate with strata managers, building managers and residents to encourage and support participation in the food organics recycling service.
- Conduct site assessments to assess building waste infrastructure, communication channels, confirm service logistics and answer questions about waste and recycling services.
- Coordinate distribution of food scrap recycling trial equipment and communications collateral to participating properties, and schedule food organics recycling service information sessions in new apartment buildings.
- Provide support to properties participating in the food organics recycling service as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of communication and evaluation activities including newsletters, posters, flyers, surveys and waste audits.
- Educate the community about their waste management responsibilities and provide practical solutions to their waste and recycling inquiries.
- Develop and maintain awareness and expertise in relevant food organics recycling and resource recovery and waste management practices, issues and policy.

**Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental management or related field and demonstrated relevant knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience in delivering projects within time and budget that achieved measurable results.
- Experience working with and fostering relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills with excellent customer service skills and strength of character to deal effectively with difficult customers.
- Strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite of programs, particularly MS Excel.
- Have rights to work in Australia.
- Hold a current NSW Driver's License.
