Your Role
To provide support to the appraisal team and technical assistance to the Underwriters within their allocated team. You will also be responsible for meeting service, production and profitability targets by assisting with underwriting new business, endorsement changes or amended renewals.
**Your Responsibilities**:
Evaluate, accept or decline simple new business, endorsements based on underwriting guidelines
Collate underwriting information and refer risks outside the scope of authorities issued or the underwriting guidelines to the team leader with recommendations
Monitor workloads and advise team leader if assistance is required due to exceptional circumstances, i.e. seasonal business loads or personal vacation
Assist brokers with product and business queries
Assist colleagues and Managers with product and business queries
Assist members of the appraisal section with any queries
Assist members of the claims department with any queries
Undertake practical measures to ensure that the workplace is safe and without risk to health
Assist in general department matters when required
Appraisal appointments (when required)
Undertake appraisal UA tasks (when required)
Manage New Business Binds
Assist with amended New business quotes, Amended Midterm adjustments or renewals when required
Review and Approved Letters of appointment
Assist on Appraisal Midterm adjustment reviews.
**Qualifications**:
Your Skills & Experience
Strong written and oral communication, including a professional phone manner
Entry level underwriting skills
Organisational skills and time management
Policy documentation, including terms and conditions
Underwriting policy practice
Understanding the appraisal services
Internal system, Microsoft Word, Excel
Product range in the Personal Lines Department
Insurance industry and Chubb’s position in the market
