Underwriting Assistant

**Prime Responsibility**:

- Support the underwriting of business in accordance with the strategy and business plan within set underwriting rules and service standards

**Accountabilities**:
**Technical Performance;**
- Achieve underwriting results and growth (through new business and renewal retention) in accordance with plan and budget.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of assigned products, systems and guidelines.
- Have a good knowledge of relevant class/ product specialisms.
- Act within underwriting authority.
- Be responsible for own personal technical and skill set progression.

**Process & Procedures;**
- Provide administration and servicing support to the team and individual underwriters as required.
- Have an awareness of and ensuring adherence of all regulatory requirements, guidelines and working practices - both internally and externally.

**Customer Focus;**
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with broking partners.
- Build strong relationships with other stakeholders.
- Deliver Victor service levels on all authorised products.

**Communication;**
- Excellent and confident communicator in all forms.
- Team player with high integrity and energy.

**Educational Requirements (Preferred but not essential)**:

- Prior experience in an insurance underwriting or broking role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products in particular Microsoft Excel.
