**About the role**

Weldingmen is seeking an experienced and motivated **Leading Hand****:

- Metal Fabricator** to join our team in Banksmeadow, NSW. In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise day-to-day workshop operations, provide guidance to our fabricators, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator ready to step into a leadership position, combining technical expertise with strong people management skills. No installation on the site is required.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Lead and coordinate daily workshop activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Working on the tools, including fabricating and welding.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of fabricators, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and plans, providing clear instructions to the team.
- Perform quality control checks to maintain Weldingmen’s high standards.
- Monitoring consumables
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.
- Enforce WHS policies and procedures, ensuring safe work practices at all times.
- Act as the first point of contact for problem-solving and escalation on the workshop floor.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in metal fabrication, with proven leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Current driver’s licence, white card (forklift licence advantageous).
