**Your new company**
This Federal Government Department in collaboration with other Federal agencies, consumers and stakeholders aims to improve the environment through effective policy advising, research and regulation.

**Your new role**
The focus of this role is to continuously improve the national biosecurity system by providing quality, evidence-based policy advice and reform agendas to the department executive, Minister and Australian Government, working closely with our internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing input to policy papers, reports, and briefs
- Undertaking research and analysis tasks
- Contributing to policy and/or program development and implementation
- Analysing complex information and translating key messages to plain english
- Engaging professionally with key internal and external stakeholders
- Managing reporting systems and portals
- Administrative tasks as required (e.g. Assistance with procurement, contract management and departmental finance requirements)
- Maintaining appropriate records for meetings, projects and workflow
- Other duties as directed.

**What you'll need to succeed**
The successful applicant will possess the following:

- The ability to solve problems in a strategic and creative manner, while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in building and sustaining productive relationships with the ability to negotiate confidently with a range of stakeholders and a diverse team
- Demonstrated ability to deliver work that is of a high standard, within specified timeframes and under mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to assist with projects to their completion; including monitoring and reporting on project progress, adjusting plans and activities as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in and contribute productively to a team culture that leverages diverse skills and experience to deliver projects and solve problems
- A commitment to continuous improvement, working in new ways and a demonstrated ability to lead, implement and respond positively to change
- A high level knowledge, skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, Sharepoint and MS Teams
