Your new company
We are looking for a motivated and capable APS5 Policy Officer to join a high-performing policy team within a Commonwealth Government agency. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of evidence-based policy that supports national priorities and delivers real outcomes for the Australian community.

Your new role
You will be brought on board initially for 6 months to assist with preparation of new policy proposals. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development, analysis, and implementation of policy initiatives
  • Conduct research and prepare briefings, reports, and ministerial correspondence
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide policy advice.
  • Monitor emerging issues and contribute to strategic planning
  • Assist with coordination, reporting, and continuous improvement activities

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous APS5 Experience
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail
  • A commitment to integrity, professionalism, and public service values

Eligibility

  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in public policy, economics, law, science, or a related field are desirable.
