**The Opportunity**
At The Kids Research Institute Australia our vision is simple; happy, healthy kids. Our highly skilled and professional Communications and Marketing team help us to communicate the impact of our world-class research and are responsible for managing all internal and external communications for the Institute including media, marketing & branding, social media & websites, the intranet and events.
We now have an opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our team of talented professionals to drive the public profile of the The Kids through the development high-quality, engaging content through storytelling that aligns with the strategic goals of the Institute.
Working closely with the Media & Content Manager, this role will also be responsible for developing regular and engaging written content for various communications channels. You will Support the wider Team by providing communications advice and support in terms of planning and implementing special projects while maintaining high stakeholder engagement.
Some of your duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop regular and engaging written content for various owned and earned communications channels in a timely manner.
- Liaise and build excellent working relationships with research and professional service teams to develop communications plans to support their projects.
- Assist with planning and managing Institute events.
- Contribute to team planning and regular meetings of the Communications team.
Conveniently based at Perth Children’s Hospital, this full-time role will be offered on an ongoing basis.
**About You**
The successful applicant will have three to five years of demonstrated experience in communications, public relations or similar, and a passion and talent for creating compelling content with a genuine interest in science and health research and how it impacts children and families.
- Excellent creative written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing communications strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent editing skills.
- Ability to develop personal and corporate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
