Payroll and Accounts Officer for a company based in Melbourne CBD paying up to $90k

**Your new company**

This worldwide engineering company is looking for a Payroll and Accounts Officer to join their finance team on a permanent basis. The company prides itself on looking after its employees and always considers the employees' well-being within the working environment.

**Your new role**

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

- Complete timesheets on a daily basis and submit electronically on a weekly basis.
- Monitor contractors for payroll tax purposes and assist in Accounts duties as required.
- Process payroll and maintain employee, leave and payroll data in the Payroll System (ADP), and make approved changes for each fortnightly pay run i.e. salary variations, back pay, overtime, bonuses and additional hours payments in the Payroll System (ADP) and Job Costing System (BST).
- Evaluate opportunities for improved efficiencies and effectiveness in consultation with your Manager, including identifying, developing and implementing standards, systems, tools and processes to support continuous improvement within the organisation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, monthly reports and other financial reporting requirements, including assisting with the preparation of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet (and reconciliation of the same), GL and analysis of P&L, including investigating unusual P&L, Balance Sheet items as required.
- Process creditor invoices into the accounting system and distributes these to appropriate staff for authorisation and answer creditor related queries.
- Enter daily payments, receipts and bank statements into the accounting system and balance bank reconciliations.

**What you'll need to succeed**

You must have strong payroll experience while having the ability to work with high volumes. Additionally, you must also have all round accounts experience and an understanding of journals. Having strong communication skills would be highly beneficial to this role because you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders in the business. Additionally, you will have expertise in the use of ADP Payforce National payroll software or similar payroll system.
