Chandler Macleod is the leading provider of temporary contractors to the NSW Government and has partnered with NSW Government Departments and Agencies for more than 25 years.

**The Opportunity**

Chandler Macleod is looking to engage a number of experienced Librarian's for a short-term contract within Sydney's libraries.

Shift times and hours per week will vary between 24 - 36 and may be spread across the Sydney CBD and surrounding areas. Current locations that are available are:

- Darling Harbour (24 - 26 hours per week)
- Surry Hills (36.25 hours per week)
- Glebe (28 hours per week)

**Job Specification**

In this position, you will be required to perform but are not limited to the following tasks:

- Work as an effective team member to deliver on and support the Library's Business Unit plan, Quality Standards and guidelines through excellent customer and library services.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience and consistently meeting diverse customer needs and expectations.
- Provide equity in access through connecting diverse communities to information, technology, spaces, literacy and lifelong learning.
- Develop knowledge in and provide a range of library services and support in the most timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in the delivery of innovative services in technology, learning programs, collections and enhanced use of Library spaces that meet diverse community needs.
- Actively participate in outreach and community engagement.
- Adhere to compliance, legislative, industrial and City policies, including the NSW Library Act and amendments. Adhere to Library policy and procedures within branches and to contribute to the development of network-wide policy, procedures and guidelines.

**About You**

To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in the following:

- Satisfactory pass in the Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service including a high level of ability to work effectively with the public.
- Willingness to develop skills in and provide a range of library services such as readers' enquiries, research and technology assistance, circulation services, home delivery services and library administration and deliveries.
- Willingness to develop skills and assist in the delivery of library learning programs including adults, children, youth, multicultural and IT.
- Preparedness to undertake outreach and community engagement.
- Demonstrated clear written, listening and spoken communication skills, especially for reporting up and across to supervisors and co-workers.
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member, ability to accept direction willingly from supervisor(s), and ability to take initiative.
- Ability to obtain Working with Children Check.
