This department, based in a growing area of Canberra, works on the policy and legislation towards on the development and protection of Australians in need of support. Due to an increase of work in this area, this department is looking to expand their team. This expansion means that there is an opportunity for a Strategic Coordination specialist to join their team as an APS6 Officer for a labour hire or non-ongoing contract.

**Your new role**

Are you seeking an opportunity to impact many people's lives?

This dynamic team, is responsible for policies and programs relating to children and young people by working on the departments response to an important royal commission. You will be focussed on providing support to the team and unit, in co-ordinating requests for information from a range of stakeholders. With not only the opportunity to make an impact with policies, your day to day work will include:

- taking ownership of work activities to maintain progress and deliver on tight timeframes
- preparing a range of documents including minutes, briefings and correspondence
- Supporting the broader team in the delivery of branch priorities

As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, well-developed communication skills with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**

With growth opportunities quite prevalent in this team, you will have the opportunity to turn this into a longer term position. Your previous experience with PDMS will be quite useful and will help you succeed in this position. Coupled with this you will also have:

- experience working with an information management team to access and store sensitive information
- Excellent research, analysis and project management skills
- Experience working in a coordination area
- Ability to Multi-Task and work to deadlines in a dynamic team environment

To be considered for this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
