**The opportunity we have available**:
The Strategic Fleet Program Team is responsible for implementing the Australian Government’s commitment to establishing a strategic fleet of 12 Australian flagged and crewed vessels. The vessels will be privately owned and commercially operated, and will be available to the Commonwealth to requisition in times of need, crisis or national emergency.

The strategic fleet will strengthen Australia’s supply chains, enable the movement of critical cargo during crises and emergencies, and provide employment and training opportunities to improve Australia’s maritime workforce capability.

The team’s functions include establishing and managing the Strategic Fleet Pilot Program (SFPP) Standing Offer Panel, which is seeking the first three strategic fleet vessels, and developing policy to implement recommendations from the Strategic Fleet Taskforce.

The Strategic Fleet Program Team has an APS6 Contract Manager position available to support the ongoing management of the SFPP Standing Offer Panel. As the Contract Manager you will assist with all Deed and Contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.

**What will you do?**:
Duties will include:

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders enabling productive liaison in relation to contract and deed management;
- Conduct contract management activities, including drafting contract change proposals and other contract management documentation and processing and approving the payment of invoices;
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for managing current and future commercial matters, including contract management governance and creating Standard Operating Procedures;
- Provide guidance, advice and services during the procurement on contracting activities including coordination of legal and financial services;
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth and Department policy across all procurement and contracting activities;
- Analyse risks and develop mitigation strategies for the risks associated with procurement and contracting activities, contract performance and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
