**About the role**:
The objective of the National Development Group is to support our energy offering to ensure we continue to meet the ongoing needs of our customers.
You will be reporting to the Head of National Programs, Property and Deployment as well as working cross-functionally with Facilities and Network Planning Teams to ensure adherence to strict legal standards of compliance linking the equipment and technology of the Future Energy Division with Ampol’s Retail assets.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of applicable Standards and Technical Practices to ensure that technology/equipment is safe, reliable and efficient, while appropriately managing risk
- Work cross-functionally with the Future Energy team, Retail Operations and the broader National Development team to ensure alignment and compliance on design, scale and location of initiatives and new assets including charge points, solar and battery
- Provide technical advice to Deployment Managers and review all site-specific technical drawings i.e. “Issue for Construction” drawing sets to ensure designs are consistent with Ampol technical standards
- Conduct hardware risk assessments for new hardware intended for use in the Retail network as it relates to Future Energy initiatives
- Contribute to best practice improvement strategies in the National Development Group regarding Standards processes and technologies
- Foster the creation of new standards for emerging technologies
The position can be located in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
As we grow, this role may also grow, and reasonable changes may need to be made in accordance with the needs of the business.
**About you**:
You demonstrate a nimble and proactive mindset and the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders including vendors, business owners, customers, government, and internal teams to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation.
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer (currently chartered with Engineering Australia is preferred) with demonstrated experience in the development and continuous improvement of standards in retail or a multi-site network organisation. You will be supported by a Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or in an alternative Engineering discipline with a strong exposure to Electrical.
Any accompanying post graduate Commercial or Technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Power Electronics or Project Management will also be highly regarded.
Your ability to guide third parties through to task completion will be well positioned and your working style exhibits a dynamic edge and flexibility to adapt available resources.
Key skills and experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in retail related building construction electrical projects
- Previous experience deploying charge points on fuel and non-fuel forecourts
- Exposure to civil/electrical construction activities in hazardous environments
- Demonstrated experience and continued working knowledge of Energy operations and or similar civil/electrical construction and program management
