**About us**
The Anti-slavery Commissioner is a new independent statutory officer reporting to NSW Parliament, a role created by the _Modern Slavery Act_ 2018 (NSW). The Office of the Anti-Slavery Commissioner supports the Commissioner’s efforts to advocate for and promote effective action to combat modern slavery in NSW. This includes oversight of public procurement, and of government policies and legislation; identification and support to victims of modern slavery; advice and training; and collaboration with business, civil society and the research sector.
**About the role**
**The Business Operations Manager plays a critical role in establishing and building a brand new government entity, the Office of the Anti-slavery Commissioner, to support the execution of statutory functions under the **_Modern Slavery Act 2018_**.**:
**The Business Operations Manager provides a range of critical high-level executive, program and project support services to the Anti-slavery Commissioner and leads the development of effective business operation systems for the Office of the Anti-slavery Commissioner.**:

**From role description**
The Business Operations Manager leads the development of robust business operations systems and infrastructure for the Office of the Anti-slavery Commissioner. S/he acts as the Executive point of contact, liaises with stakeholders including Parliamentarians, Senior Public Servants, Business Partners from the Department of Communities and Justice and other NSW and federal government entities. S/he implements, monitors and reports on strategic, operational and project plans to inform decision making and support achievement of organisational objectives. The Business Operations Manager researches and prepares strategic advice, information and reports on diverse and complex policy, planning and operational matters to facilitate informed decision making and business planning.
The Business Operations Manager provides issues management and support, and responds to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with mínimal risk to the organisation. S/he leads and/or contributes to projects to support the achievement of organisation level strategic and operational objectives. S/he develops and oversees the implementation and evaluation of business planning practices, systems and frameworks. The Business Operations Manager also provides robust advice with respect to NSW Government processes, in the execution and development of Business Cases, New Policy Proposals and organisational structure. S/he will manage and report on the Office of the Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s budget, establishment and other corporate requirements.

You are experienced in building or developing** business operations systems and infrastructure.
