Principal Client Service Officer, Estate Planning and Administration – Government Wide EOI – NSW Trustee and Guardian
Expressions of interest are being sought from current NSW Public Sector employees (ongoing and temporary staff) who wish to be considered for this temporary employment opportunity.
- 1 x Temporary Full-time vacancy up 12 months. 35 hours per week.
- Location: Parramatta. This role requires office attendance, 5 days per week for the first 3 months. After 3 months, a hybrid option can be considered.
- Clerk Grade: Level 7/8. Offering a competitive salary of $113,574 p.a. to $125,720 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the team
The Estate Planning and Administration division is responsible for delivering NSW Trustee and Guardian's commercial services in Will making, as trustee, attorney, and as administrator/executor of deceased estates. The teams administer assets in accordance with the functions and obligations under the relevant legislation and makes legal decisions within legal frameworks and NSWTG's prescribed delegations. The division delivers high quality service using a customer-centred approach and is delivered by:
- Estate Administration
- Trust and Powers of Attorney Administration
- Intestate, Life Estates and Crime Confiscation/Civil Forfeiture administration
- Wills and Estate Planning
About the role
- Step into a dynamic leadership role where you'll inspire and guide the Service Centre Team to deliver exceptional, reliable, and timely administration of deceased estates, trusts, and powers of attorney.
- As a hands-on leader, you'll empower frontline staff, champion professional and empathetic communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries, and serve as the go-to expert for interpreting complex legal documents.
- You'll drive operational excellence by providing specialist advice, nurturing strong relationships across the organisation, and overseeing all aspects of team management, including performance, training, and recruitment.
- Your leadership will set the standard for outstanding customer experiences, while your expertise and vision will shape divisional priorities, contribute to organisational initiatives, and support positive change.
- Reporting to the Service Centre Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in escalating issues, influencing policy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

About you
- You are a proactive leader with strong financial acumen, initiative, and problem-solving skills, consistently demonstrating the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- You have a deep understanding of estate, trust, and power of attorney administration, complemented by your knowledge of relevant legislation or proven experience working in highly regulated environments.
- You bring hands-on experience managing a front-line service delivery team, allocating work, coaching and mentoring staff, and driving performance.
- Your excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, and collaboration skills enable you to build and develop effective working relationships across the Estate Planning and Administration division, other NSW Trustee and Guardian teams, and external stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable, you are willing to rotate across all teams within the division to ensure customers receive the highest standard of service.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading a team in the areas of estate administration, trust administration or power of attorney administration.
- Willingness to have phone calls and team email accounts monitored for quality assurance and training purposes, and to participate in one-to-one review sessions for calls and emails.
- Understand the Department's Flexible Working Hours Agreement and to work within the required bandwidth.
- Ability to work in the Parramatta Office, initially 5 days per week.
