Technical Services Metallurgy Manager

**The opportunity**:
We are currently seeking highly motivated Technical Services Metallurgy Manager to supervise the organization and activities of technical services focused on production planning, research, development, reporting and quality control various processing plants, as well as technical support, critical process improvement and capital projects.

**About the Role / Key Responsibilities**
- Work in such a way of spreading a safety culture among the persons under his responsibility first then with collaborators and other stakeholders.
- Respect and making respect of safe work system in the company, following the 9 pillars.
- Address any unsafe operating practice, and work with the staff to make the system safer.
- Use any authorized tools such as stop work, whistle-blower to prevent incidents/accidents and sustain the company vision of zero-incident and non-corruption policy
- Oversee the reporting structure and information shared of the entire processing chain to the organization.
- Align reports to business objective and key performance indicators.
- Establish short term and midterm production plan
- Ensure plant information accuracy and accessibility.
- Develop tools and processes to automate reports
- Exploring possibilities of inserting latest innovations available in the Mining industry and upgrading the system whenever required
- Establish test work program to evaluate reagents performance, optimize plant parameters.
- Review quality control for all critical reagents used on the processing plan.
- Communicate with all departments involved in the production chain to centralize parameters impacting the production.
- Review compliance to established production plan and identify causes of deviation and opportunities.
- Identify shortcomings in existing processes and systems.
- Develop long term solutions to repetitive problems.
- Utilize established change management programs to deliver prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services
- Work with consultant, product representative an others external specialist on new technology, new systems to support innovation and improvement plan.
- Ensure final product compliance with client requirements and quality plan
- Develop and deliver clear plan by setting targets for the staff supervised
- Ensure that the team receives necessary training to enable them to carry out their respective jobs effectively and safely
- Improve personal performance and coach others using performance management systems and protocols when required
- Ensure all subordinate work in line with existing procedures.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Have an engineering degree in chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in a metallurgical factory/ processing plants;
- Have 3 years in a management role or as a Superintendent.
- Have advanced skills in process design, financial evaluation of metallurgical projects, and simulation.
- Minimum computer knowledge (advanced Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio);
- Experience in Financial evaluation of projects and Continuous improvement systems;
- Process simulation techniques and software;
- Technical project documentation (process design basis, process design criteria, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, project schedule, Hazop)
- Know how to communicate in French and English;
