**The opportunity**:
We are currently seeking highly skilled **GM Concentrator for a DRC based client reporting to the Director of Operations, **to lead all operational matters of the concentrator plant (streamlining processes, improving efficiency and driving productivity to achieve strategic goals), planning and developing strategies to continually optimize and improve operations, launch and carry out projects.
**About the Role / Key Responsibilities**
- Drive operational discipline required to ensure daily work promotes safe outcomes, have proven leadership behaviors, relevant skills and commitment to eliminating fatalities, act as a role model and be able to implement organizational processes in accordance with the workplace safety strategy.
- Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the team, develop and implement effective workflows, standard operating procedures and best practices to optimize operations.
- Set direction, engage in resource allocation and support asset management practices in line with the company's asset management framework to effectively achieve the company's strategic objectives throughout the life of the business. life of operations.
- Effectively allocate resources, including human resources, budget and equipment to achieve production goals and quality standards.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement measures to improve resource utilization.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess performance levels.
- Analyze data to identify trends, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability to maximize team productivity and engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Metals, Integrated Planning, Projects, Mining, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales, to coordinate activities and achieve organizational goals.
- Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on operational performance and strategic initiatives.
- Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact operations and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruption and ensure business continuity.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- An engineering degree in metallurgy, mineral processing or a related field;
- An advanced degree will be an advantage.
- Extensive experience (at least 15 years) in mineral processing operations, with emphasis on copper flotation and concentration processes.
- In-depth knowledge of concentration plant operations, equipment and technologies, with experience in process and cost optimization.
- Extensive experience in Metallurgical, mineralogical knowledge, Water systems, treatment circuits, Project planning and implementation
- Mastery of budget management, cost control and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve production and safety goals.
- Excellent understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance and mining industry best practices.
- Training and development of metallurgical personnel
- Fluency in the English language is mandatory.
