ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. And its central goal is to save lives and prevent harm through speed and accuracy in emergency operations.
About The Role
The Accounts Support Officer will provide support for the Financial Commercial Services department by ensuring accounts payable and accounts receivables are processed in a timely manner and comply with organisational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Reporting to the Manager Financial Operations, the key focus area for this position will include providing financial and administrative support to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders of ESTA.
**Day to day responsibilities include**:
- Process invoices and prepare monthly accrual journals to capture incurred costs.
- Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and banking duties including answering stakeholder queries.
- Maintain accurate Masterfile data and records in ESTA's financial systems.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues in relation to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
This is a permanent position based out in our Burwood East office.
About You
**To be successful in this position, you will have**:
- A Diploma/Tertiary qualification in accounting and/or finance.
- Prior experience in a similar role in a medium to large and complex organisation.
- An aptitude for problems solving in accounting and financial compliance.
- Sound knowledge of Victorian government financial accounting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and GP WorkPlace or similar financial and procure-to-pay systems.
- Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
