About the role:
As a Business Collections Team Leader, you will have functional and strategic responsibility for all processes relating to the credit management of AGL’s business customer base across large and small markets.

Responsibilities also include:

- Develop and monitor performance metrics for the team including customer collections, aged debt and customer service metrics for all customer segments
- Ensure the Customer Collections team is appropriately resourced, trained and performs to agreed KPI’s
- Continually identify more effective ways to deliver on the targets while reducing overall costs within the business
- Pro-actively keep all stakeholders informed of debt situations to ensure good communication throughout the business
- Be a point of reference for the team to escalate customer and collections issues for timely resolution
- Build relationships, negotiate and influence key internal stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to collections and servicing customers is maintained
- Deliver 1:1 performance reviews with the Customer Collections Consultants that measures each team member against key metrics in line with supports the BC Credit Strategy.
- Support the team to interpret the Customer Collections strategy and plan and how that relates to the daily activities
- Conduct monthly meetings with Manager Business Customer Collections to review team performance reports.
- In conjunction with the Manager Customer Collections, provide clear, regular and effective communication, direction, priorities, goals and objectives to the team that aligns their behaviour and performance
- Assess needs in the team for different levels of training and support and provide the correct development needed
- Coach and upskill Customer Collections Consultants to develop each person to have a career path to take on the Customer Collections Specialist role when next an opportunity exists

Qualifications and key skills required:

- Minimum of 3 years credit & financial operations experience (preferred)
- Industry experience
- Collections experience
- You will be self-motivated and outcome oriented, leading primarily by personal example with drive and performance, but at the same time having the ability to delegate effectively
- Experience in leading teams with commercial and customer experience objectives
- Ability to get strong commercial outcomes while managing the experience of the customer
- Previous Energy Industry experience would be advantageous.
- Degree in Business related discipline preferred but not essential
