**Job Description**:
**Could you be our next Government Relations Specialist?**
As the Government Relations Specialist, you will support the development and implementation of proactive Government engagement strategies (Local, State, Territory and Federal) to embed and promote McDonald’s business and impact objectives with key political and departmental stakeholders. What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?
- Supporting the Impact and Corporate Relations team to educate, inform and build trust with key stakeholders in areas important to McDonald’s, including employment, agriculture and environment
- Managing and maintaining stakeholder maps and government relations assets
- Drafting formal briefs, submission, letters, and assets on behalf of the business
- Supporting the National Development Group in local engagement around New Restaurants
- Monitoring and forecasting brand and regulatory risks
- Providing insight into all matters related to Government
- Building a strong network of political and departmental contacts to proactively engage all three levels of Government
- Supporting the Impact and Corporate Relations team’s broader internal and external strategic objectives
- Be a trusted liaison with Ministerial, MP and departmental offices, providing advice and input to Government and policymakers
- Providing timely and regular government and policy updates to the McDonald’s system on emerging issues or successful outcomes
- Assisting in the management of McDonald’s Government Relations agency
**Your keys to success**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a government relations style role and a sound understanding of all three levels of Government
- A clear and concise communicator able to engage with all levels of business and government
- Proven ability to craft briefs, speeches and messaging for senior management
- A results-driven individual with the ability to meet goals, targets and deliver business plan objectives
