This Federal Government Department is seeking an APS6 Legal Policy Officer to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced and high-profiled topic, whilst developing new and adaptive skills. We are looking for motivated people to become valued members of our team, who will get to be involved in:

- driving the future policy direction through providing high level, evidence-based policy options and briefings to the Minister and the Executive;
- creating and supporting the implementation and delivery of new policy initiatives;
- identifying and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including state and territory governments and the community to deliver the policy objectives;
- developing legislation and providing clear, accurate policy advice to stakeholders;
- producing a range of written material, including internal and external communication products, website, media and responses to Freedom of Information requests.

- well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
