**About the role**
We are seeking to fill various accounting and finance positions at the APS5 and APS6 levels, across the Finance Business Partner and the Financial Operations, Reporting and Compliance sections.

The roles within the Finance Business Partner team will involve partnering with internal stakeholders to provide strategic financial advice and support to enable budget holders in making solid decisions from an operational perspective.

The roles within the Financial Operations, Reporting and Compliance team include contributing to the monthly and annual financial statements, assisting with asset management and tax functions, and supporting financial services including accounts payable/receivable, travel and credit cards.

APS5 Key responsibilities:

- Prepare quality financial and/or management reports with appropriate supporting working papers.
- Provide financial analysis and financial management advice to business areas.
- Process end of month and year journals and review financial information to ensure correct treatment of costs
- Assist in the development of budgets and monthly forecasting requirements with internal stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the ACIC and the AIC.
- Coordinate and undertake efficient and effective delivery of financial services that include accounts payable and receivables, travel and credit card services.
- Assist with the Agency’s asset management and statutory tax function.
- Contribute to policy updates and adherence.

APS6 Key responsibilities:

- Prepare quality management reports with appropriate record/working papers.
- Develop internal budgets and monthly forecasts with stakeholders and monitor expenditure against budget.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for the ACIC and the AIC.
- Manage Agency’s asset portfolios, including regular liaison with business areas & peers for effective management of assets.
- Manage Agency’s statutory taxes and compliance.
- Manage monthly journals and reconciliations.
- Manage internal & external audit queries.
- Oversee the daily operations of accounts payable and receivables, travel and credit card team.
- Assist and contribute to policy development including updates and adherence.
- Adhoc duties as and when requested by the managers.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

- Well-developed organisation skills with strong attention to detail and a sound analytical ability.
- Team player with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster relationships in order to deliver high quality advice and support to stakeholders that may include Senior Executive.
- Relevant experience in government financial processes, administrative tasks and/or contract management will be highly regarded.

To be considered at the APS Level 6, you will also ideally demonstrate:

- Experience in preparing quality financial analysis and reporting, and presenting findings in a succinct manner.
- Commitment to delivering results and taking initiative to implement process improvements.
- Ability to effectively manage time pressures while delivering quality results.
- Experience in managing teams.
- Experience and skills in asset management practices.
- Ability to train a team and customers on financial management practices and policy compliances.

**Desirable qualifications**
- Sound knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework, principles, policies and practices.
- Accounting diploma/degree qualification or similar discipline (highly desirable).
- Professional memberships or working towards attaining CPA or CA (would be advantageous but not essential).

- **Citizenship**- To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- ** Security Clearance** - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
