Band 4 Policy and Project Support Officer within the State Government’s Education Sector

**Your new company**
Based in the Hobart CBD, this position sits within the Tasmanian Education Sector, one of the largest departments of all Tasmanian Government agencies. This is a six-month contract with the possibility of extension.

**Your new role**
Our client is looking Project Support Officers who are exceptional generalists to carry out the following duties:

- Undertake research and analysis to support the provision of strategic policy advice across the portfolio
- Assist the development, delivery and implementation and review strategic policy and projects to improve education outcomes across the State
- Draft a range of written communication including Ministerial correspondence, reports, briefing notes, project plans and communications material
- Assist with the planning and delivery of policies, projects and initiatives that involve liaison, coordination and collaboration with other team members and internal and external stakeholders
- Provide secretariat, administrative and general support as required
- Support the coordination of responses to all requests for information, briefings, and correspondence
- Manage minor projects, undertake research and prepare ad hoc reports as required
- Collate information and data to distribute to relevant directors to assist with their divisional reporting
- Distribute, track, file and ensure the security of complex documentation and data that contain sensitive information
- Any other ad hoc administration support required

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful, you will demonstrate the following abilities and qualifications:

- Sound research and analytical skills
- Self-management and organisational skills
- Good written communication skills to enable the production of a range of documents
- Good interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Working knowledge of the Public Sector system
- A valid WWVP is essential
