We are seeking a Human Resource Administrator who is ready for a new challenge of implementing a full HR policy and procedures for the increasing growth of a long established and successful engineering business in Western Sydney.
**The Company**
Our client is a leading international company in the area of engineering. They provide customers in the building industry with efficient solutions for rational construction. They have operations in most Australian states, and due to consolidation and expansion, require a HR administrator to assist in the formulation of HR policies and procedures.
**The Role**
This permanent full time role will co-ordinate a head count of almost 100 employees in the sales engineering, workshop, customer service, accounts and administration. This role works closely to ensure attraction and retention of talent, development of people capability to match business requirements and educate the managers and employees on employee relations / industrial relations matters. It also provides a full range of agreed HR services to continuously improve programs, policies and practices.
As a HR assistant, you will be responsible for all HR related issues to ultimately increase the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the business. This is a hands on co-ordinator role in which you are responsible for setting and communicating HR policies, procedures, OH&S, recruitment, workforce management, agency staff management, and co-ordinating all HR related issues with logistics manager, finance manager and State managers.
- Duties incorporate and include:_
- Reviewing and evaluating HR policies and procedures
- Manage WH&S systems, workers comp, and related advisory
- Labour and contractor co-ordination
- Assisting logistics manager with all HR related issues
- Induction systems and management
- Employee contracts evaluation and possible renegotiation
- Review and possible revamp of all staff position descriptions
- Understanding and interpreting employment law related to the business
- Job ads, initial screening, interviewing, reference checking, and all recruitment activities
- Co-ordinating all recruitment efforts and co-ordination with external agencies if/as required
- Liaising with Immigration advisors
- Performance management reviews with management
- Sick leave management and advising on reducing lost time and down time
- Liaising with Inter-state and divisional managers and formulation of strategies to remedy any labour issues and plans to best utilise the labour.
- has proven success in HR policy and procedure setting,
- has experience in the engineering or construction industry is an advantage,
- has strong personality, steadfast, confident, and is constructive critical, and solution minded,
- with previous success in leading staff training and development,
- has excellent communication and negotiation skills,
- has strong drive to excel and to thrive even in difficult work situations, and,
- has proactive and positive approach, combined with outstanding work ethic.
