**The Position**
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of People & Culture is central to providing leadership for the organisation’s people and culture strategies. The purpose of the role is to maximise employee engagement and lead the enhancement of a high-performance culture. The role will include leading recruitment, employment relations, performance management, training and development, and talent management programs to ensure the business attracts, develops and retains talent to deliver key organisational objectives. You will influence effectively across all levels of the business and assist senior management to lead structural changes and process improvements; operational, strategic, and tactical.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, construct and implement the people & culture strategy aligned to the organisation’s strategy and business direction;
- Lead, coordinate and enhance recruitment processes and employee attraction strategies across the organisation;
- Utilise data, insights, and HR measures/metrics to inform and influence key strategic and operational decisions;
- Partner with leaders on employment relations, performance management and case management;
- Identify and implement measures to improve leadership capability, employee engagement, team culture and operational efficiencies;
- Partner with and contribute to workplace health and safety practices, effectively manage WorkCover and Return to Work plans, as well as cost minimisation;
- Partner with team leaders to identify skills and capability gaps across the organisation, and design, lead and partner on learning, development and training programs including new employee induction, and advancing existing employees’ knowledge and skills.
**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment/Industrial Relations or related business management discipline like law, psychology, commerce etc.;
- Demonstrated experience in a lead Human Resources role, managing a small team, and consulting with executive leadership teams and senior management groups;
- Strong business mindset, interpersonal and communication skills to drive human resources and organisational development agendas to achieve expected outcomes;
- Analytical and lateral thinking skills, with proactive initiative to create positive change and drive in HR operational objectives and processes;
- Strong working knowledge of the National Employment Standards, industrial relations legislative requirements, including Award based employment contracts and enterprise bargaining agreements.
