Product Development Team Leader

**About the role**

With a focus on the research and development of innovative new products; development of new technologies and coating solutions; and collaboration with all areas of the business on projects you will work in a talented and professional team to support the overall technical objectives of the Group.

**Responsibilities**
- Leading and developing a team responsible for the delivery of innovative new products
- Developing formulation and material knowledge in the team by building own expertise, and coaching and guiding where appropriate
- Collaborate across the business to translate consumer and market insights into new projects targeted for growth in traditional and adjacent markets
- Working on higher risk development projects that require extensive research, novel technology review and qualification, analytical and testing development and evaluation for potential new product commercialisation opportunities
- Using scientific and formulation knowledge to develop creative solutions in line with project objectives
- Designing and personally executing experiments, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations

**Skills & Experience**
- Advanced degree in an area of Chemistry, Engineering or related Science field
- Previous industrial experience in surface coatings or related industry
- Previous exposure to woodcare products formulation would be highly advantageous
- Demonstrated contribution as a people leader will be highly regarded
- Ability to design and implement complex technical procedures and processes
- Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, research and computing skills
- Strong communication, influencing and networking skills.
