**About the role**

In this integral role, you will be responsible for driving risk management excellence through the implementation and development of our Risk Management and Assurance Management Frameworks. You will achieve this through timely and accurate reporting, awareness programs, and ensuring that our stakeholders and organisational leaders are equipped to make reliable and critical business decisions.

Your team is passionate supportive and hardworking. Internally they are known as the guardians of trust. Their role is to provide support and assurance, build capability and improve decision-making. This ensures the organisation maintains and builds trust in the communities in which we operate.

Bringing together the many facets of risk management, the role is responsible for the following deliverables:

- Churches of Christ’s Internal Audit and Integrity (Fraud and whistle-blower protection) Programs
- Providing assurance to board committees, executives, and senior leadership that the interests of our customers and clients are being appropriately considered in risk decision-making, reporting, and monitoring across the organisation.
- Leading the development of the organization’s resiliency programs including business continuity management and other risk mitigation strategies key to organizational resiliency.
- Enterprise risk management activities.
- Quality and Compliance including obligation due diligence (legislative, regulatory, standards, and grants).
- Procedural and proactive tracking of assurance review recommendations and escalations.
- Risk management activities to ensure ongoing operational control effectiveness and associated treatment plan reviews.
- The leadership of the organisation’s risk management information system and Document Management system capability and maturity.
- Constructive working relationships with business owners, risk, quality, and compliance community.
- Managing Churches of Christ's insurance arrangements with its broker.

The role has a high level of autonomy, undertaking audit engagement independently with a high level of stakeholder engagement.

**About you**

You are a high performer with 7- 10 years of supporting risk maturity uplift. As a seasoned leader, you have excellent attention to detail, stakeholder management, and leadership capability. You will be able to critically analyse scenarios and adopt strategies to address the ever-changing internal and external drivers. Your experience communicating both written and verbal to executive groups will enable you to develop and continually improve our risk management frameworks.

In order to succeed in this role, your skills knowledge, and experience will include:

- Leadership experience with the capacity to deliver results, inspire and motivate teams, and work across organisational boundaries to achieve shared goals.
- Degree-qualified in accounting, law, economics, commerce, or business.
- 7-10 years supporting Risk and assurance in medium/large organisations.
- Applied knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance requirements, and Government policies that impact one or more of the following: Seniors Living/ Aged Care, Child Protection, Social Housing, and Corporate Governance.
- Commercial and risk management skills are highly desirable
