A fantastic opportunity to join nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the 230670 Technical Specialist, reporting to the Executive Manager HFC Performance Strategy and Operations. You will join the HFC Performance Strategy and Operations team and act as a critical pillar to broaden and deliver high-speed internet services.

A bit about your role

The goal of the HFC Performance Strategy and Operations team is to plan and manage the execution of performance maintenance initiatives, changes, and improvement activities to minimise customer service impacts and improve and maintain network health and customer experience.

The Technical Specialist will be a crucial point of inquiry and a self-starter in strategic approaches and can support and direct matrix technical engineers, lead and influence stakeholders, and possess extensive telecommunications experience, preferably in HFC.

Technical Specialist will work on developing and implementing performance monitoring, resolution and problem management best practices and processes. The role is also responsible for developing business requirements and performing required tests to ensure any system changes or automation improves the HFC Performance ways of working.

The role will allow nbn to successfully achieve the objectives and be responsible for maintaining the Operational Performance of HFC network elements.

A bit about you

You will be confident in acting with a high degree of autonomy and intuition to develop and implement performance monitoring, resolution and problem management best practices and processes.

Ideally, you will have experience leading technical teams within telecommunications or IT environments, focusing on capacity and performance management. You will have a collaborative and robust background in network design and data analytics for HFC, including RF spectrum management.

The Technical Specialist will bring demonstrated ability to work to develop functional competencies through process improvements, and ideally, you will be familiar with current telecommunications technology developments.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential as you will assist and understand DOCSIS technology and be familiar with current telecommunications technology developments. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to get messages across to a range of audiences across and outwards from the organisation.

You will be motivated to assist stakeholders in understanding how these best practices and processes operate. You will want to solve problems in conjunction with working with SDPs, Operations (Field Services, CSA), and NES (NetM and change management) teams to maintain the operational network performance of the HFC network. Furthermore, you will work with Engineering, CTO leads or even the Build Construction teams to ensure the team is getting fit for purpose capabilities or network.
