The NSW Department of Education are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join Identity and Access Management area within the Information Technology Directorate (ITD) that delivers state-of-the-art information and communications technology (ICT) to over 100,000 employees and over 800,000 students in more than 2,200 public schools across NSW, as well as supporting staff at more than 90 offices around the state.

**About the role**

The Technical Support Specialist is an integral member of a dedicated team that supports the Department's Identity practice, services, and data management initiatives. This role involves providing expert technical assistance and guidance to ensure the seamless operation of identity-related systems and services. The specialist will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to address technical issues, implement solutions, and enhance the overall efficiency of identity management processes.

In addition to troubleshooting and resolving service-related problems, the Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for monitoring system performance, preparing detailed performance reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and departmental protocols. By leveraging their technical expertise, the specialist will contribute to the continuous improvement of identity services, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of the Department and its users. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining the integrity of identity management systems, ultimately supporting the Department's mission and objectives.

**About you**

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering technical support and expertise in the ICT field. Your key tasks will include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, as well as implementing new technologies to enhance our operations.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
