Trainer and Assessor

Excellence Trades College Pty Ltd with trading name Excellence Trades College is an RTO offering quality education in Vocation Education sector for many years. We (hereafter ETC) are seeking for experienced Trainer and Assessor for the following qualifications

1. AUR30620 Certificate III In Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology

2. AUR40216 Certificate IV In Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis

3. AUR50216 Diploma Of Automotive Technology

4. SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management

5. SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management

**Role**:
The Trainer is to prepare and deliver safe and effective training and assessment to students enrolled with Excellence Trades College (ETC) and is to provide suitable training support services to compliment student’s individual needs.

**Main duties**

The following duties apply:

- Plan training and assessment sessions to ensure the required resources are available to support the delivery.
- Deliver and coordinate training in accordance with the requirements of the training strategy using training methods that progressively instil knowledge and skills into students.
- Conduct assessment in accordance with the principles of assessment and the designated assessment strategy.
- Undertake own professional development activities to continue to develop competence and currency of skills and knowledge. Update ETC professional development register to provide a true record of professional development and currency.
- Contribute to ETC systematic approach to continuous improvement. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement and acting responsively to implement agreed improvements.
- Participate in ETC assessment moderation and validation activities to promote fair and reliable assessment and to maintain the alignment of assessment activities and materials with industry expectations and training package requirements.
- Update training and delivery materials every semester/term. Ensure that all training material complies with relevant national competency standards, and with the standards set by ETC.
- Provide assistance in the development of the training and assessment program, training materials and resources by suggesting necessary changes and improvements in training delivery and assessment strategies.
- Follow and enforce rules, policies and guidelines outlined in the Student and Staff Handbooks.
- Prompt submission of required training materials and other documents by the due dates stipulated in ETC’s calendar. This includes: unit outlines, attendance updates, feedback on students, results etc.
- Enforce the level of standards expected of the students.
- Liaise with ETC administrative officer to coordinate the flow of documentation to ensure student records and operational data is kept accurate and up to date.
- Maintain equipment and training aids to ensure they are serviceable and safe for operation.
- Monitor the safety of students at all times. Always put the safety of students before any other priority or activity.
- Deliver services that focus on the individual student in relation to identifying and meeting student’s individual needs.
- Perform duties in an ethical and professional manner that supports an inclusive learning environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
- Respect the needs of each student and make adjustment to training and assessment to accommodate these needs of individuals without compromising the integrity of the desired outcome.
- Create an environment that supports and encourages equitable treatment and behaviour from all students and those contributing to learning and assessment.
- Facilitate student access to their records on request.
- Ensure that appropriate housekeeping measures are observed, and, that training facilities are maintained in a clean and tidy state.
- Report non-compliance with legislation or ETC policies and procedure immediately to the Training Manager.
- Always strive to minimise waste in the planning and usage ETC resources.
- Model ethical and professional behaviour to set the benchmark of these qualities for students and others.

**Selection Criteria**
- Completed certificate in above-mentioned qualifications or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as required by Standard for RTOs 2015
- Industry Work Experience
- Attendance in sufficient Professional Development sessions

Experience and passion to work in VET Education is required to be successful in this role. Remuneration will be based on the applicant's experience and suitability for the role.
