THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity for a collaborative and engaging leader in technology to join as The Cloud & Platform Manager based at our Brisbane office. This is a key leadership role within the Digital & Information Systems leadership team.

The Cloud & Platform Manager role leads the establishment, development, and maintenance of DevOps processes within the Integrated Gas division and contributes to the broader IT (Information Technology) community, through leveraging and adopting cloud-first and automation-centric tools and processes. The role also leads the platform development activities to broaden the capabilities of our enabling platforms in direct response to business demand, or to enable future functionality that will drive further business value for the Integrated Gas business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage our AWS environments and provide overarching leadership on standards, governance, and design-patterns, whilst ensuring we are taking every opportunity to optimise our costs through effective design decisions and patterns.
- Leverage industry best practices and technological innovations to provide solutions that contribute to increased IT operational efficiency.
- Research concepts, conduct special studies, lead the development proof-of-concepts based on Cloud technology to exploit new opportunities to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT and DevOps landscape.
- Work collaboratively across the various teams within Digital & Information Systems and champion department-wide solutions and processes with the individual groups.
- Provide technical leadership for proposed and in-flight deliveries ensuring that the right resources, patterns, solutions, and any relevant risk mitigations are in-place.
- Collaborate with extended technology teams to share successes, failures and opportunities and participate and contribute to existing technical forums.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for the role you will have:

- Creative, innovative thinker, with an ability to challenge and agitate the status-quo to inspire transformational change
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and management skills, developed within a complex operational environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation, with the ability to articulate key propositions in an easy to consume manner
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in managing 3rd party vendors and contract negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to work across virtual and regionally dispersed team to achieve outcomes, deadlines, and business value.
- Design, build and deployment of automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or GCP with a strong preference towards current AWS experience.
- Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Business or IT, or similar
