**The Role**

At CENTREPIECE, right in the heart of our sporting & entertainment precinct, we are seeking a talented and proactive individual to take on the role of Conference & Events Planning Executive. This is not your ordinary planning role - you will be the mastermind behind creating unforgettable experiences that leave the clients and guests in awe, working in an exciting venue that has been in operation for 18 months and contentiously host new and exciting event formats across two floors of event spaces.

As the Conference & Events Planning Executive, innovative ideas and strategic vision will help us continue our promote and grow our business into new and exciting markets. You will also play a pivotal role in elevating the experience of our existing clients, making sure they keep coming back for more

You will be at the heart of the event action. Collaborating with clients and the operational dream team at CENTREPIECE, you will lead the end-to-end planning process for each event though to the handover with our talented event delivery, and operations team, you will ensure everything it is to brief, on budget and exceeds clients' expectations.

***About the Venue**

Bounded by the Yarra River and set among 40 hectares of green public space, the Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct is best known as the home of the Australian Open, with CENTREPIECE’s auditorium and media facilities serving as the broadcast hub for this world-class grand slam tournament.

As the precinct’s newest venue, CENTREPIECE rubs shoulders with the giants of elite sports and arena entertainment at Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, AAMI Park and Kia Arena.

CENTREPIECE is a multi-use Events space hosting gala dinners, awards & recognitions nights, conferences & expos, pre / post show VIP experiences in collaboration with Melbourne and Olympic Parks arenas as well as cocktail events with a capacity of up to 2500 guests. The space is driven by flexibility and creativity for our clients and guests' unique experiences.

Event Planning
- Ensuring safety is paramount to all activities at Melbourne & Olympic Parks
- Being responsible for the planning event requirements for your allocated events with support from the F&B, Operations and Delivery teams.
- Working with ASX Companies, luxury retailers, leading sporting teams, international promoters,

Customer Experience
- Identifying and supporting Food and Beverages elements and customer experience within CENTRPIECE, elevating and identifying ongoing improvements to exceed expectations.
- Ensuring the delivery of a quality customer (Client and Guest) experience for multiple functions, at events
- Managing the often-competing demands of clients and stakeholders whilst ensuring legislative and safety requirements and standards are maintained

Client and Hirer
- Work collaboratively with Business Units (Venues) and Support Services (Finance, Workforce etc) to lead and champion operational improvements and strategic changes in the organisation.
- Working with the client to create a seamless customer journey within the venue, balancing client brief and expectations as well as operational and venue requirements.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Proven track record planning events within a Convention Centre or large venue
- Well-developed client network within the Convention Centre/ Business Events industry
- Experience with leading contemporary and innovative event planning
- Proven ability to work with customers and stakeholders to understand needs, plan events and upsell within existing events
- Teamwork and collaboration skills across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure delivery of events
- Exceptional time management, planning and organisational skills with a positive approach to change
- Knowledge and experience working with Ungerboeck Systems International (EBMS) is an advantage
- Experience working with external partners in Audio Visual, Rigging, Catering. Cleaning and Security is an advantage.
