About Us
At the City of Boroondara, we are proud to serve a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable community. Everything we do is guided by our values - respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation. We’re here to deliver high-quality outcomes that enhance the lives of our residents. Join us and be part of a team that places community at the heart of our work and looks to the future with ambition and purpose.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable Project Officer to join our Capital Projects team within the Places and Spaces Directorate. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of landscape, playground and public space improvement projects across Boroondara. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of our city’s open spaces, parks, and community infrastructure.
You’ll bring a keen eye for detail, strong project management capability, and a collaborative mindset to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, and to a high standard. Your work will span across civil and landscape design, construction oversight, stakeholder engagement and contract management.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Officer, you’ll manage projects from concept to completion. This includes working closely with design teams, engaging with community stakeholders, and supervising contractors onsite. You’ll contribute to the development of contract documentation, specifications and cost estimates, ensuring they reflect Council’s values and community needs.
You will oversee procurement and tendering processes and provide clear and timely reporting to Council as required. A key part of your role will involve active site supervision to ensure works are delivered safely, sustainably and to agreed quality standards. Your projects will leave a lasting, positive impact on Boroondara’s public spaces and community assets.
About You
You’re an experienced and proactive project manager with a background in landscape architecture, engineering or a related discipline. You have a strong track record of delivering public space or playground projects, supported by your excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
You understand the importance of community consultation and value sustainable and inclusive design. Your communication is clear and effective, and you enjoy working collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals. Familiarity with contract management, procurement processes and relevant standards will set you up for success in this role.
