**Job Description**:
This is a varied and diverse role, and will draw on your expertise in practical and strategic Injury Management, as well as your experience implementing and driving well being and mental health strategy and initiatives.
You will spend the majority of your time and energy on the mental health and wellbeing side of the role. You will focus on managing diverse psycho-social risk in a variety of situations - from reporters and journalists working in war zones to participants on reality TV shows. You will identify, develop and implement programs specific to industry in order to support a holistic and industry-leading approach to mental health and wellbeing at Nine.
From an Injury Management perspective you will play a strategic role overseeing the function. The day to day RTW Coordination is outsourced, but you will be responsible for ensuring this is an effective partnership, and that timely communication is maintained between the business leaders, the worker, the insurer and all other third-party providers. You will also drive the development of strategy for injury management to ensure continual improvement and best practice.
**Day to day you will**:
- Design and implement frameworks, tools, processes and other mechanisms related to injury management and health and wellbeing
- Assist in the formation of well being strategic objectives and facilitate wellbeing and mental health programs
- Lead health and wellbeing monitoring, including managing functional and psychosocial risk
- Manage workers compensation, injury management and return to work programs for both workers compensation and non-work-related claims, ensuring robust partnerships with the RTW provider, insurer and other third parties
- Ensure workers Compensation premiums and costs are managed through diligent claims management process and continual reviews
- Coordinate claims reviews with relevant parties to ensure visibility of cases and progress
- Perform ergonomic assessments in field and in office environments
**Qualifications**:
You know Injury Management and the claims and insurance process like the back of your hand, and have extensive previous experience in National IM roles. You are confident in your ability to manage injuries strategically whilst engaging in a partnered approach for RTW activities.
You have had recent experience moving into the proactive and preventative area of well being and mental health, and see this as the future of your career. You have a passion for mental health and are excited to be involved in defining our well being strategic objectives, as well as leading the implementation and facilitation of mental health well being programs.
Your passion pushes you to constantly seek out industry best practice to further your own learning and drive improvement. You are a proven leader and an excellent communicator with the ability to maintain stakeholder relationships and influence through strong collaboration, negotiation and resolution skills.
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Experience in driving a health and wellbeing culture from a behavioural and compliance perspective in a large complex organisation
- Expert knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of the health & wellbeing elements of the WH&S Legislation, in addition to Rules and Regulations regarding fitness for duty
- Experience managing a broad range of work/non-work-related injury/ illness claims and RTW plans end to end, on a national basis
- Experience managing insurer and broker relationships including claim reviews and managing premium renewal process and impacts
- Ability to effectively provide advice to leaders on injury and claims management, legislative compliance to workers compensation and the impact of claims cost and liability
- Experience developing and embedding a wellbeing strategy and associated programs and initiatives
- Experience facilitating training to build capability and skill in leaders and employee base
