**The Practice**
An experienced general paediatrician specialising in developmental and behavioural issues is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children from birth to 18 years. With new rooms currently being constructed, and a move-in date set for early March, it’s an exciting moment for this specialist and her thriving practice.
The solo practitioner is currently based at the Heidelberg Family Medical Centre and serves as a consultant paediatrician at Frankston Hospital. Her warm, engaging, family-centred approach is much cherished by the patients and families for whom she treats. This warmth and care extends to her staff as well and she is recognised for her exceptional employer status.
**The Position**
In readiness for the upcoming move and new practice environment, the newly created role of Practice Manager involves overseeing both the daily and broader management aspects of the practice, covering various business and patient care responsibilities. This ensures the practice operates smoothly and efficiently, maintaining an exceptional standard of care for patients.
**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- Collaborate and participate in strategic planning and marketing
- Develop and maintain SOPs, System Manuals and Policies for the business
- Organise team schedules for daily and long-term objectives
- Manage team communication and provide regular updates
- Schedule and run team and practice meetings
- Manage payroll, budgets, and financial communication; working with the bookkeeper for accounting activities
- Provide leadership and uphold practice values
- Manage recruitment, professional development and performance
- Work with IT support to maintain and update systems and troubleshoot IT issues
- Manage administrative and clinical patient journeys
- Manage the physical environment and equipment
- Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements
- Manage quality improvement and risk process
**About You**
You’ll possess a naturally positive and optimistic outlook, finding fulfilment in contributing to a compassionate, values-driven business. Your extensive medical administration skills, especially in finance and business management within a GP/Specialist setting, make up your impressive toolkit. As an 'IT native,' you confidently navigate medical software/electronic technology, adept at troubleshooting IT issues. Crucially, being a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you are prepared to actively support your specialist and the business as their journey of success continues in this next phase of growth.
**Salary & Benefits**
The Practice Manager position is an important part of the clinic. Part time hours (3 days a week) and days are flexible. It is anticipated the role will expand to full time hours within the first year. Offering a generous hourly rate between $40-50p/h + Superannuation, located in Heidelberg and a real chance to hit the ground running and be an integral part of the set up and running of this new practice.
