**About the role**

The Payroll Coordinator assists in the process and maintenance of accurate and up to date payroll records and contributes to ensuring HammondCare meets legislative requirements.

**_ This is a parental leave contract for 6 months working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday based at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities._**

**Key Responsibilities include**
- Assisting in the timely compilation and distribution of pay for staff on a fortnightly basis
- Answer all payroll enquiries in an appropriate and timely
- Provide ad hoc reports requested by manager
- Provide statements of service/assistance to the People Team as requested
- Keep up to date with legislative changes with respect to the payment and taxation of wages/salaries.
- Contribute to ensuring HammondCare is meeting legislative requirements through the deduction and remittance of PAYG tax, Superannuation Guarantee and salary sacrifice contributions, and other payroll deductions required as per legislation, staff contracts and requests.
- Maintain payroll compliance with relevant Award and Agreement determinations
- Check new employee records in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure employee leave balances reflect up-to-date balances
- Assist with overpayment recovery action and documentation
- Work cooperatively with other team members in delivering a professional service to our employees

**About You**
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s mission, motivation and mission in action
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll or remuneration and benefits role
- Knowledge of ichris/c21
- Strong administrative and computer skills including Word and Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a large team
- Empathy and patience
