Company Description
CARE is a large 24hr multidisciplinary hospital based in the eclectic inner-city neighbourhood of Collingwood (3km from the CBD). The hospital is staffed with an outstanding team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff working alongside specialists in surgery and internal medicine.
The centre is very well equipped with imaging (Siemens 16-slice CT, digital radiography, digital subtraction fluoroscopy, Phillips affinity and POC ultrasound machines, regular off-site access to 3T MRI imaging), critical care (6 new Menios oxygen cages, new Getinge Servo-u ventilator and newly created critical care suite), laboratory (Radiometer blood-gas machine, IDEXX Procyte haematology, Catalyst biochemistry and coagulation machines) and other equipment such as Olympus endoscopy and advanced anaesthetic monitoring.
CARE enjoys a busy and varied load, encompassing a broad range of emergency and referral cases. We are committed to the continued development of the facility and its instrumentation, to ensure that contemporary and newly developed techniques and practices are available for our patients.
**Job Description**:
The Business Manager position is a key management position within the hospital. It is an integral component of the leadership team and includes responsibility for the hospital’s business development, and strategic and operational management.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Provision of support to clinical and administrative teams to facilitate their delivery of the highest standard of patient and client care.
- Advocacy for, and promotion of, high standards of patient care
- Maintenance and development of relationships with referring veterinarians
- Financial leadership and reporting
- Project management within the hospital
- Marketing and promotional coordination
- Leadership of, and cooperation with, strategic business planning and change implementation
**Qualifications**:
You will be an approachable and, at least have an intent to become, an influential leader within the veterinary industry, with a strong desire to help others succeed and evolve professionally. The role involves a combination of independence and teamwork, both within CARE and with external stakeholders, and experience and success in similar environments will be beneficial. You will need to adapt, listen and collaborate, develop and implement processes and identify, and manage, opportunities for change. The CARE team is proud of its flexible, creative and enthusiastic attitude to the challenges of veterinary work and the Business Manager will be expected to identify with, and share, this approach.
Applicants with a Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary qualification, and post-graduate qualifications in business, will be highly regarded.
