**About the role**
The Housing, Planning and Homelessness team in the Economic, Housing and Infrastructure Policy Group in The Cabinet Office provides strategic policy analysis and advice to inform projects and policy that span the housing spectrum across the NSW Government.
The Associate Director of Housing, Planning and Homelessness Policy leads the delivery of assigned projects and staff to undertake complex planning and housing policy or project work to inform policy directions, facilitate priority reforms or major initiatives and provide well researched and sound options on which the Department can rely for effective decision making or delivery. This includes working collaboratively and effectively with agencies to help resolve complex policy problems. The Associate Director identifies emerging issues of strategic significance and prepares high level advice to the executive of The Cabinet Office and the Premier on these matters.

**We are looking for individuals who**:
- **
**Have extensive experience in undertaking and managing all aspects of the policy process - research, development, review and evaluation.
- Understand economic principles and how they impact housing market dynamics
- Demonstrated knowledge of and working experience with relevant environmental planning legislation and assessment process
- Have skills in data analysis and visualisation, and translating technical and complex information quickly
- Have demonstrated experience in State government budget processes
- Can manage and analyse complex and sensitive issues to provide considered, strategic advice and solutions in a high-volume work environment, with competing priorities and deadlines which are often changing and unpredictable
- Can facilitate the engagement and input of a wide range of stakeholders from government, the public sector, non-government, industry and community sectors, given the diverse interests and demands of stakeholders.
**Essential requirements**
- **Has tertiary qualifications in Policy development, Planning or Economics, or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.

**Salary**:Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($145,378 - $168,138) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
