In the role of Project Officer, you will develop and support a range of initiatives and projects aligned to the Queensland Transport and Logistics Workforce Strategy and Action Plan, which aims to ensure a skilled, sustainable and supported transport and logistics workforce into the future and supports a skilled workforce, a critical enabler of the Queensland Freight Action Plan.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Build knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training system.
- Research funding and grants for skills and training at all levels of government to highlight the opportunities it offers to address skills and labour shortages within the industry.
- Assist in developing advice for the transport and logistics industry around implementing workforce capability initiatives, programs, and projects, within a project management framework.
- Maintain currency of industry changes and the potential impacts on workforce and project deliverables.
- Initiate and maintain effective strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support the implementation of innovative workforce management solutions and business improvement.
- Prepare high quality internal and external communication materials and resources.
- Support the team by maintaining systems and processes to ensure communication with industry stakeholders is relevant and timely, enabling informed workforce planning decisions.
- Draft correspondence, reports, submissions, or briefing notes for consideration by the Manager, Director, Executive Director, General Manager, Deputy Director
- General, Director-General and Minister.
- Actively participate in performance conversations and undertake capability development activities to perform efficiently in the role and assist other team members.

This role reports to the Manager (Workforce and Data).
