**Could you be the next Category Merchandising Associate?**
As a Category Merchandising Associate, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for creating assortment strategies based on analysing sales and trends. Our job blends creativity and analytics. The Category Merchandising Associate will develop business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximize the development of the brand, sales, and profits for a specified area of the business. You will be responsible for coordinating information across functions working with Design, Inventory Management, Sourcing, Retail Teams, and Visual Merchandising to ensure the process is followed and timelines are met.

This role is based in our Head office in Alexandria, Sydney.

**What to expect on a day to day basis**
- Manage and grow a department or area of the business through fact-based analysis
- Perform market analysis, competitive analysis, and deep dive into sales trends to develop business strategies outlining strengths, weaknesses, new opportunities and threats
- Obtain feedback from stores to improve product and add to collections
- Communicate annual and seasonal strategies to all cross-functional partners
- Work closely with Inventory Planning to develop seasonal financial plans
- Recommend and collaborate with Visual Merchandising to plan floor layouts
- Proofs website for copy and sku information integrity and accuracy
- Visit stores and contact field management to gather information on customer feedback and product issues
- Assist Inventory Management with determining appropriate adjustments (markdowns, delivery charges and quantity changes) to the plan to maximize sales, profits, budget (OTB) and to protect the brand

**Your skills and experience for success**
- BA/BS required
- 5+ years in Merchandising
- Advanced retail math skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills; required to create pivot tables, advanced formulas, and functions such as VLOOKUPS
- Loves to work collaboratively in a group, you have an innate willingness to dig in and contribute to your team.
- Are a true business owner; comfortable with decision-making and calculated risk-taking for the benefit of your business
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Including the ability to present complex issues simply to drive engagement and activity
- Ability to be organise, structure in communication, and prioritise competing agendas
- Capable of seeing the big picture combined with a sense for details
- Leadership potential
