**The Role**
Are you looking for an opportunity in a challenging and highly complex enterprise? An exciting opportunity exists for a project manager to join the new Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office to delivery sustainment support to the Joint Space Component.

The Joint Space Component Sustainment Manager will be responsible for liaising with all levels of the CoA product team and wider stakeholder community in order to manage and coordinate sustainment delivery of short, medium and long term requirements of two operational units. This position requires knowledge and appropriate experience in managing projects, budgets and schedules.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office (SDACSPO) organisationally sits in the Space Systems Branch, under Air Defence and Space Systems Division in CASG. The Systems Program Office manages Space Domain Awareness and Control in-service capabilities and capabilities in acquisition, engaging with local, regional and international enterprise partners and suppliers, consisting of both foreign governments and industry, to provide support to the Capability Manager. This demands a strong understanding of domestic and international space domain government frameworks and controls within the team.

The SDACSPO team comprises of professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from offices at Defence Science and Technology Edinburgh in Adelaide and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.

They will be suited to working as part of a large cohesive team, with industry and with international partners. They will also need excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks. As part of this role you will be responsible for the following activities:

- Accountable for the development of product management strategies and plans, enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the management of Defence assets.
- Accountable for the accurate completion of work within agreed schedules and requirements of product management plans to ensure that product management requirements are fully considered, costed and documented.
- Analyse, develop and recommend product management options that achieve optimal use of Defence assets, balancing cost, opportunities and risks against desired asset performance.
- Investigate and identify product management risks and issues and take the initiative to provide solutions.
- Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships to achieve product management outcomes.
