**The Role**
Are you interested in being involved with Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Warfare Self-Protection (EWSP) reprogramming, and providing specialist advice on EW matters? If so, then the APS 6 - Technical Specialist - Systems Capability Manager is the job for you. This position offers a wide variety of challenging and rewarding tasks, as well as the rare opportunity to be involved in supporting EWSP reprogramming through your employment at Joint Electronic Warfare Operational Support Unit (JEWOSU).
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the technical expertise for all United States (US) specific EWSP equipment within Army Electronic Warfare Support Flight (AEWSF), and laboratory management and configuration. You will work as part of a small team of technical specialists within AEWSF working towards engineering outputs primary being EW Libraries for US EWSP Radar Warning Receivers (RWR).
**Responsibilities**:
- Act as primary Subject Matter Expert on all US EWSP equipment
- Maintain the highest level of Engineering Authorisation on all US EWSP equipment
- Maintain liaison with sustainment project offices and support acquisition project planning
- Assess technical data applicability to US Systems and action as required
- Maintain lab maintenance and configuration status (supported by contractor workforce)
- Maintain AEWSF and US system documents including review and configuration control
- Maintain register of internal tools with documentation and configuration control
- Be prepared to lead reach back and sustainment operations in high tempo scenarios
- Be prepared to support non-traditional projects and future additional Electronic Warfare Support teams
**About our Team**
JEWOSU is Air Force’s EW centre of excellence, providing EW and Airborne Countermeasures products to maintain the operational relevance of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, ships and submarines. AEWSF is a Software Support Facility within JEWOSU that provides the EW reprogramming for Army rotary wing platforms. The flight is split into platform specific section teams, with the current RWR supported being those fitted to ARH Tiger and Chinook, and soon to be Black Hawk and Apache. AEWSF also provides advice in relation to reprogramming EW matters within Army Aviation.
The flight has the ability to deploy in direct support of Army platforms to ensure Electronic Warfare Libraries are optimised to suit the operational environment and operator requirements. AEWSF contributes to the EW education of the wider ADF by providing ad-hoc platform-specific EW training to their customers.
