**About our Team**
Australia does not have a sovereign Space Domain Awareness capability and relies on Allies to access the necessary information to achieve a space surveillance picture. This Project will deliver to Defence Space Command, a sovereign capability to detect, track, identify and characterise objects in space. It is a foundational element to operating in the new space domain and all current and future space capabilities will rely upon this.

Our team in the Space Acquisition Project Office is part of the Wide Area and Space Surveillance Systems Program Office - which acquires and ensures the availability and performance of highly complex space domain awareness and high frequency radar capabilities for Defence.

A key philosophy of the project is to deliver at the speed of relevance. To achieve this, the Space Acquisition Project Office, in conjunction with Defence Space Command, are building our sovereign space capability using modern acquisition and delivery methods, partners with innovative organisations and will deliver cutting edge technologies.

Our Project Office is at the forefront of contemporary acquisition projects. The project will be delivering the capability incrementally over time using a Tranched approach to progressively solve important challenges for the space domain in an agile environment.

The Project Office is based in Adelaide, the epicentre of the emerging Australian Space Industry, the home of the Australian Space Agency and many space Start-ups and SMEs - which is why you should consider a move to Adelaide. However, applicants wishing to work remotely, who have strong collaboration skills and can inspire excellence, will be considered.

While space is a fun and highly interesting growth area, it is not essential that applicants have an in-depth knowledge of all things space related.

The Project Office is seeking motivated and talented individual who is comfortable working with a level of ambiguity and a spirit of collaboration. This is an exciting time to be part of new technology eco-system and to join the fast developing space community, which values creativity.

The successful applicant will be a core part of implementing the future space capability for Defence, a once in a lifetime opportunity. You will enjoy working in a complex, fast paced environment as part of a diverse and inclusive team that encompasses a variety of knowledge, skills and experience.

If you can grow, think, dream and create, then you will be a great fit for the Space Acquisition Project Office.
